Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe!
The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe!
I'm not much of a baker and I don't really attempt complicated recipes, but one day I really wanted to make some chocolate batter cookies with chocolate chips and I couldn't find a recipe anywhere. The only recipes I could find online were for chocolate chip cookies or brownies. No site told me how to make chocolaty cookie batter so I figured I'd try and improvise. It took me about 3 attempts to get the perfect chocolate cookie recipe, and I thought I'd share it now that I have it down pat:
Prep: 20 mins
Bake time: 8-10mins
Makes: about 26ish cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons hot water
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups cocoa powder (the secret ingredient and right ratio to flour is 1:1)
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (I usually just eyeball this. Use as much as you want)
Instructions
1. I usually melt the butter in the microwave for like 30 seconds because who really has room temperature butter? Doesn't everyone just keep it in the fridge?
2. Mix the butter with the sugar first. Then crack the eggs one at a time and mix that up.
3. Pour the vanilla extract into the mix. I usually just eyeball it.
4. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, cocoa powder and chocolate chips.
5. Bake for about 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees fareneheit. I like my cookies soft so I tend to bake for a shorter amount of time so they're almost liquidy in the middle.
6. Enjoy!
